This service is currently offered for both electric and bass guitars. Describe the problem, and we can troubleshoot it, find the cause of the problem if you haven't already identified it, and fix it. If we are unable to fix it, you will not have to pay a cent. Whether it's a cracked neck, electronics acting up, or your instrument just needs some minor touch up paint, we got it! Depending on the repair necessary, the parts needed, and the time investment into the repair, costs will vary.
For a "No Part Orders" (repairs with no parts being ordered), a minimum of $10 is charged. After one hour of work, the price will rise in conjunction to how much time has been spent on the project.
For "Part Orders" (projects requiring the ordering of parts), the cost of the parts is included in the final total as well as that same $10 charge. Once again, after the first hour of work has passed, the price will go up linearly with time.
For both types of repairs after that first hour, the price continues to rise at a ratio of $12 an hour. For example, if you were to have a repair with no ordered parts being necessary, and work takes 1 hour and 20 minutes, it would cost $14. In another case, if your repair needed a $30 part and took 2 hours and 30 minutes, $58.
Once again, if no repair is possible or achievable in the workshop, then we will return it to you free of charge.
One additional option is the "Dumpster" package which means that where we can use formally trashed materials and give them new life through implementation in a repair. This can save money on parts as well as help eliminate unnecessary waste within our community.
Small Custom Jobs are small edits or alterations to your guitar. These would include a custom pick-guard, repainting, intentional weathering, custom volume dials, and more. Other small jobs would be things such as upgrading a bridge, pickup, or tuning pegs with a new style and/or a better quality. Small Custom Jobs have a minimum fee of $12 dollars, covering the first hour of work. After the first hour, cost will rise in accordance with the ratio of $14 an hour. All ordered parts to make the modifications will be included in the final price. I will always look for the cheapest reliable parts I can find, but at your request I will use specific/more expensive parts to complete the modifications. You must communicate if you are looking for an upgrade, or just a cosmetic alteration with each purchase. Clarity will get you the best and most satisfying results, so let us know!
Large Custom Jobs are large changes and alterations to a guitar, or even building custom guitar from scratch. Large jobs are the most time consuming and require the most money for parts and materials. Large alterations to a guitar would include a new fret-board, a new neck, completely new electronics system, and more. Fully custom guitars are available at request as well, but a down payment of $20 is required to begin work on this type of project. Because of the complexity and care needed on both big alterations as well as a full custom guitar, an hourly rate (after the initial hour) is $19. After 8 total hours the price goes up to $23 per hour for every hour after the first 8. Once again, communication with us is key to get the most worth and satisfaction from your build.
