The Importance of Materials
The materials used in anything is incredibly important. While I myself am in the process of paying more attention to what the things I buy are made of, I encourage everyone to begin paying attention as well. This page provides random facts and information about each of the materials I use so you can make an informed decision on your purchase. In addition, interesting facts to make a decision on quality and the ethics of different materials I find will be posted here. Each different type of material will have its own "Sources" section for your researching convenience.

Aligator skin is a very sustainable and closely monitored export in the United States, and each individual product is ID'ed and has a paper trail of who bought it and where it is going. There is also only a very small amount of commerce surrounding them that is not documented and illegal, but if you are concerned inquire about the documentation of the gator hide/product from the seller and they should be able to tell you.
